Environmental Management Systems (EMS)
We have extensive experience in creating and implementing certified environmental management systems (EMS) both for client organisations and within our own business.
What is ISO14001?
ISO14001 is an international standard for environmental management systems (EMS) which can be applied to all industries and size of organisation. Approximately 35,000 organisations worldwide have ISO14001 certification. Increasingly, clients are requiring their suppliers to demonstrate the existence of a formal EMS within their companies and many now specify ISO14001 certification as a pre-qualification requirement.
Why aim for ISO14001 certification?
Implementing an EMS can lead to benefits such as:
- Improved corporate image among industry colleagues, clients and the public.
- Providing competitive advantage – many pre-qualification questionnaires now require bidders to have ISO14001 or BS8555 certification.
- A framework for continuous improvement of our environmental performance.
- Savings in consumption of energy and materials and reduced waste disposal costs.
- Reduced cost of waste management.
- Reduced risk non-compliance with environmental legislation.
