Ken is a former Deputy Director of Education in West Sussex and, as Chief Adviser there, led and managed one of the country’s most successful advisory services.  He has more than 25 years experience of senior, strategic management in education, including the leadership and management of large teams with responsibility for budgets in excess of £300m. Ken joined the Appleyards team following four years project management experience within the Academies framework. This invaluable experience of setting up Academies and working closely with their Principals, combined with his vast experience of school organisation and transformational improvement programmes, is highly valued by all of our clients. Ken was awarded an OBE for Services to Education in the Millennium Honours.
