So you want to set up a new Free School?

We understand that it can be immensely difficult and frustrating trying to set up a new school, even if there is a group of you involved.

For the last five years Appleyards has specialised in setting up new schools under the Academies programme so we have a wealth of experience to share with you. When the Free Schools initiative was launched last year we were one of the first organisations appointed to help the initial wave of proposers to submit their Business Cases before Christmas 2010. We have worked with groups like Discovery New School, Nishkam Education Trust, McAuley College Academy and Woodpecker Hall Academy to prepare for opening in 2011.

We've got to know what's needed by the Department for Education (DfE), what really works and what doesn't. Our experienced team will be able to guide you through both the Business Case and Pre Opening phases, ensuring you meet the stringent deadlines and compliance processes throughout.
