Appleyards has been involved in the Academies programme since 2004 and is a project management and education framework consultant to the Department for Education (DfE).
Our team members have delivered over 50 sponsored Academies. As part of the programme we have introduced a range of innovative structures into schools such as extended days, new vocational learning opportunities, the International Baccalaureate, enrichment activities and personalised learning. We work with a wide range of sponsors from educational charities such as the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers, United Learning Trust and Edge to further education and higher education establishments such as Sussex Downs College, Stoke on Trent College, University College London, the University of Kent and Canterbury Christ Church University.
For schools converting to Academy status we provide a complete project management, legal, HR, TUPE and consultation service which removes the burden from staff and allows them to focus on what's most important. To date we have supported four schools to convert, managing a range of issues associated with federations, land and property arrangements.
Appleyards is also a consultant to the DfE's Academies Group and the Office of the Schools Commissioner on its Niche framework.

If your school is considering Academy status we would be pleased to support you with the process. Please contact Ros Fox on 07921 487873 or email academies@appleyards.co.uk and we can arrange a free workshop session for your Governing Body.
Having worked with Appleyards before on the Cleethorpes Academy I had absolute confidence in their ability to fast-track our change of status and protect the interests of the school. That faith has been fully justified.
