Ecobuild is the world's biggest event for sustainable design, construction and the built environment. This year's remodelled seminar programme included a focus on BREEAM. One of the keynote speeches was delivered by Neil Reed, Director of Project Management Services at Appleyards and Laura Frickey, Project Manager, who spoke about the challenges of delivering the highest scoring BREEAM Outstanding rating achieved to date. The project in question is Defra’s Lion House building, Alnwick, Northumberland, project managed by Appleyards, which has achieved a string of prestigious sustainability awards.

Neil and Laura's presentation highlighted how they moved from an Excellent rating to an Outstanding rating and the secrets of achieving this.
