We empower our people through EVE, our employee consultation group, through personal development plans, one-to-ones and our six-monthly all-team events.  We benchmark our performance against other relevant organisations. We measure our success by feedback we receive from our annual staff survey, our performance in the Top 100, through the ideas our people generate and we put into practice, and through our staff retention rates.

What we do for our employees

Appleyards Employee Voice and Ears group, ‘EVE’ is a team of employees who are passionate about making improvements to the business for the benefit of their fellow colleagues and clients. EVE members meet monthly to present the views of their fellow team members, discuss ideas and put plans and actions in place to make them happen.

Through our ‘Extraordinary Effort Awards’, Appleyards staff can anonymously nominate a colleague to gain acknowledgement and a reward for going the extra mile. Those who receive a reward get to choose from a selection of gifts or to donate the value of their gift to charity.

What we do for our Clients

Appleyards is delivering a Behavioural (R)Evolution development and coaching course for Interserve and Defra in order to bring about positive change throughout the Defra estate. The programme provides the Facilities Management team with the skills and tools to help achieve sustainability aims and empower them to drive innovation and continual improvement in their site and region.
