Our Community

We are a proactive member of our local communities through fund-raising and donations, volunteering; and we are planning a new pro-bono professional support initiative. In support of this, everyone at Appleyards is given an additional 2 days leave each year so they can contribute to their local community. An example of this was volunteering a day to a local charity, Self Unlimited at Edenbridge.

We measure our success in this area through the number of charity days leave taken, the amounts we have raised and donated, and the benefits which we have delivered.

Example

For a refurbishment project at Defra’s Nobel House HQ Building, rather than disposing of 40 tonnes of carpet tiles which were no longer required, Appleyards arranged for them to be sent to the charity Pennine Magpie for reconditioning and reuse.

Overall the day was a huge success, leaving both Self Unlimited and Appleyards with a great sense of satisfaction at what they had collectively achieved.
