Alterations and extensions to an existing 2FE Primary school. Works carried out in several phases. Phase 1 was the remodelling ground floor classrooms and providing a single storey extension giving a hall, classrooms and kitchen. Phase 2 will be the provision of a new nursery and extending the front of the school to give a new entrance and administrative accommodation, lift and further remodelling existing areas of the school.

Addressing Key Challenges

• Discovery of asbestos in Phase 1 resulted in a draw on monies allocated for Phase 2.  Through careful merging of phases, the team has achieved better value for Phase 2, still maintaining the project brief.
