Working Here

Appleyards is an exciting company to work for. In fact, Appleyards is in the 2009 Sunday Times Best 100 Small Companies to Work For list. As a member of our team, you become a part of what sets us apart from our competitors: our people. Our people are our greatest selling point, the ‘product’ we promote to our clients. And as such, they have to be pretty special.

We recognise that to attract and retain the very best people, we have to look after their interests, both inside and outside work.

A great place to work

In the workplace, we promote a consultative, collaborative environment, where everybody has the chance to air their views on the things that affect them most - from quality standards and management decisions to where our company social events are held!

We give all employees the up-to-date technology they need for their roles, and for many, the flexibility to work from home.

...with excellent benefits

Our salaries are competitive and complemented by the following benefits:

  • 25 days’ holiday, plus Bank Holidays.
  • Private medical cover.
  • Matched pension contributions up to 5%, with ‘death in service’ insurance of four times your annual salary if you join the company pension scheme, to give peace of mind to your loved ones.

... fun to be had along the way

As we have a number of offices and many people working in different locations, we think it is very important to give everyone the chance to get together, network, share ideas and have some fun. We do this by organising two seminars a year, which are open to all employees and designed in response to employee feedback and suggestions, which we gather on a regular basis.

We also believe everyone should let their hair down once in a while - in style! A dedicated committee of employee representatives organises two company-wide social events every year. Past events have included a VIP flight on the London Eye followed by a dinner-and-dance cruise on the River Thames and a ‘black tie’ ball.

...and a lot of consideration for our people

Outside of work, we recognise that our employees have a number of commitments to their families or maybe their chosen charities.

For this reason, and on top of all statutory provisions, we offer the following entitlements to help make busy lives that little bit easier:

  • Grandparents’ leave - up to three paid days off so that you can support your son or daughter in the event of the birth of your grandchild.
  • Starting-school leave - a paid half-day off to allow you to take your child to primary school on his or her first day.
  • Charity leave - up to one paid day off every six months to allow you to do charity work of your choice.
  • Enhanced paternity leave - we pay the first three days of a new father’s paternity leave in full.

So why not join our team?

These are just some of the things that make working at Appleyards special. If you’d like to find out more, please get in touch. We very much look forward to hearing from you.
